The project coordinator, Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality is one of 98 municipalities in Denmark and is a local public authority located in rural areas on the West Coast of Jutland. In terms of geographical area, it is the biggest municipality in Denmark with its 1.489 square kilometers with approximately 57.000 inhabitants. It consists mainly of smaller villages and 4 main towns with approximately between 4000 to 10.000 inhabitants. Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality employs 4.000 people. 

The Cultural Department of Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality has great experience in supporting and developing cultural institutions and organisations in a rural and peripheral area to ensure a vibrant and diverse cultural life. The main activity and objective of the Cultural Department is to support cultural institutions and organisations to ensure a great variety of cultural activities and projects meeting the needs of the community; citizens, institutions, schools and visitors. The department coordinates and develops initiatives and projects by connecting local, regional and national stakeholders. Through the cultural policy, the aim is to enrich the cultural landscape in our rural community through international activities.
